After registering on the website, you will receive an automatic confirmation of receipt. When your registration has been processed, you will receive a confirmation email. Registrations with a required start date within the next six months will be included into our planning process. The customer advisor will contact you after the initial planning to discuss placement options and possible alternatives. If we cannot offer an immediate placement, your registration will remain on our waiting list. We regularly review the waiting list to identify registrations that can be accommodated. As soon as a placement becomes available, a customer advisor will contact you to discuss the placement.

Yes, we work with waiting list criteria. Each new registration we receive is added to the waiting list and given a priority ranking.

We like rewarding existing customers: they will be given a higher priority on the waiting list. You are considered an existing customer once a contract for one or more children is in place. Much can happen in the interim.

Sometimes, when a family encounters urgent circumstances, we give their child priority because it's the right thing to do for them and their family.

Placement depends on several factors:

  1. Required start date and age of the child
  2. Waiting list criteria (existing customers have priority over new customers)
  3. Registration date

In practice, this means that a child is not automatically placed first simply because they have been on the list longer than another child. We offer placements based on our placement policy, that considers factors like age distribution and the availability of pedagogical assistants. This is always done in accordance with the IKK Act (Innovation and Quality in Childcare), which stipulates the number of children per room and group.

The customer advisor would be happy to help with questions about your individual specific situation.

To facilitate the transition from daycare to out-of-school care, we would advise that you register your child at least six months in advance.

Out-of-school care is always linked to the school the child attends. It is not possible to randomly tick a Skar out-of-school care location on the website.

Keep in mind that, if a child changes schools, we have to rely on the availability of the out-of-school care location linked to the child’s new school.
