Our vision for nutrition.

A healthy relationship with food and a varied diet: that is what we want for every child. With us, children are allowed to explore, experiment, and, above all, do things independently. We give the right example and encourage children to try new flavours, consistencies, and foods. It is how we help children grow into healthy adults.

A healthy foundation with the Schijf van Vijf (‘Wheel of Five’, dietary guidelines).
We eat in accordance with the Schijf van Vijf as much as possible. The Netherlands Nutrition Centre keeps the Schijf van Vijf recommendations up to date. The Schijf van Vijf helps us to provide children with healthy and nutritious food. We start with the basics of water, tea, and lots of fruit and vegetables. In addition, we add a limited number of products to our meals and snacks that are not on the Schijf van Vijf. After all, a little bit of jam in a sandwich now and then, or an ice lolly on a hot day is just part of growing up. It’s about striking a balance.

Celebrating and treats.
Every child deserves a celebration. We believe it is important for every child to be given the same opportunities. That is why we provide the treats for birthdays. So, you, as the parent, no longer have to provide these. Do not worry: we make sure every celebration is special.

Every child is acknowledged.
We live in a diverse society, and this means children quickly come into contact with other cultures. Because we believe it is important that children learn from each other from a young age, we offer a variety of products and rituals. We also celebrate a multitude of holidays from around the word. This varies by branch.

Rich and challenging.
With us, children are allowed to do a lot independently. They do everything they can (almost) do by themselves. From ordering to preparing, and from laying the table to tidying up, they take part in everything. Children use a variety of crockery and cutlery here. It gives them lots of different experiences and teaches them to handle fragile materials. At our branches, we use plastic cups, glasses, and porcelain plates. Of course, our pedagogic professionals will always pay attention to safety and look closely at what the child needs and how they develop.

For the littlest ones.
Feeding schedules are different for each baby, when it comes to bottles as well as solids. We follow the feeding schedule you, as the parent, give us as much as possible, until the babies are able to join the groups routine. By matching the situation at home as closely as possible, we create familiarity and predictability for the babies. Parents are also able to breastfeed at our branches.

Infant formula.
You do not need to bring your own infant formula if you use the infant formula Nutrilon 1 or 2 or Kruidvat 1 or 2. These infant formula brands are included. Do you use another brand of infant formula? Then bring your infant formula to the branch.
